Our Why

Amidst the chaos of the pandemic, when the world felt like it was shrinking and we were all drifting apart, a simple invitation changed everything. A friend called me up and said, “Come to Tarifa.” We worked during the day and hit the waves in the afternoon. The lifestyle, the home, the people—everything felt alive. We pushed each other—not just in sports, but in life and work. And I thought, this is how I want to live—and I want to help others experience it too. But when things returned to “normal,” I found myself in New York, feeling disconnected, unsatisfied, sleepwalking through life. I was surrounded by amazing people and my job offered a lot of flexibility but as life got busier, coordinating became harder and I was missing a reliable network of people who shared my drive for adventure, sports, and the freedom to live life on their own terms. I tried going solo—co-living spaces, Airbnbs, short-term rentals, hotels—but something was always missing. The right people. The right energy. The feeling of belonging. That’s when the idea for Cometa struck me. Not just dream homes in sports havens, but a community of ambitious, adventurous, free-spirited individuals who want to push limits, explore, and create unforgettable experiences together. Because in the end, it's not just about the places you go or the things you do – it's about the people you meet along the way. It all started to come together in the summer of 2022, when I rented a villa on the shores of Djerba and invited different groups of friends to join me.  Strangers became family, experiences turned into lifelong memories, and something rare and beautiful began to emerge. A space where adventure and connection existed effortlessly together. And that’s how Cometa was born.
